Prayer for an old friend....

Long story short - I went to a school reunion last night (no not *my* personal class reunion. NOt yet anyway.:-) It was a reunion for EVERYONE who attended a private school I went to off and on throughout my youth and childhood). I ran into a former teacher of mine and his wife whose son was in my class. I didn't think his son would attend but I asked how he was doing. His wife seemed to turn from joyful (from seeing everyone after 20 years and in some cases 25) to sad and sorrowful. she informed me my former classmate is now an alcoholic and drug addict and that they never see him. I appologized for asking (she assured me it was fine that I did) and I assured her I would keep him in my prayers.

Now, since time and time again it is proven to me that this is indeed a small world! And because the two shirts community is getting bigger by the day - I don't want to embarrass or anger this guy incase (by some miracle) he or his friends have found their way here so I'll just give his first name - Larry. I was always very shy around most boys when I was in elementary school (you'd never know that now about me but REALLY I was LOL) and quiet around most people. I was not really close to Larry but I always felt comfortable talking with him. I am SO sad to hear about the life he has chosen when as heirs in Christ, He has made us for SO much more.

My heart is so joyful (and I'm physically worn out) from the meeting up with old friends last night (some of whom I'm still close with today). But my heart is so sad because of Larry. I've already prayed for him a few times already but I ask - knowing that you all will - that you will remember to say a prayer for Larry as well. Thanks for reading my post that turned out longer than I anticipated.:-)

God bless,

Julie
