Do you ever feel like you are being used?

This weekend I am going to travel to two households in order to give them what I have offered. I have asked if they were infirm. If they were disabled.
I have gotten no response.
I am a new member but I am a wary member. I have worked in law enforcement for over 16 years.
I didn't even think of following the rules....
they were layed out quite clearly...
meet in a public place and do not come alone.
Simple and I was negligent.
Follow these simple guidelines....and be safe.
If you travel to the infirm....make sure you are not drawn in. Leave the package at their door. NO matter what they say!!!
Stay safe.
Never follow another to somewhere else.
Be kind....give...and walk away.

Thanks Holly

Thanks Holly, for those excellent safety recommendations. Just as a reminder to everyone, here are the safety guidelines we post in the FAQ's:

Is it safe to meet people for a giveaway?
In hundreds of giveaways we’ve never had an incident of violence. However, there are certainly people in this world who may not be safe, so it’s best to take common-sense precautions whenever connecting with a stranger. Here are some recommended guidelines:

  • Protect your online privacy: Never divulge personal contact information such as home phone, address, social security number, credit card information, etc. when communicating online.
  • Don't invite strangers to your house:Arrange to meet in a safe, neutral, public place. Meet at a church, a park, a cafe, or shopping area close enough to be convenient for both of you.
  • Don't meet strangers alone:Don’t go alone. Take someone with you just to be safe. If you drop items off at someone's house, don't go into a strange house alone.

If you feel someone you've met through Twoshirts isn't safe, e-mail the administrators at info@twoshirts.org and inform them of your concerns.
