Frequently Asked Questions

What are the rules?

  •
Everybody has something to give: your first post must be an item giveaway.

  • You must post something at least every 3 months in order to claim any items on Twoshirts.org.

  • Everything must be free: no marketing materials or solicitations of any kind.

  • No stolen items, illegal items, or firearms may be posted.

  • No profane or disrespectful posts or discussions.

Is it safe to meet people for a giveaway?
In hundreds of giveaways we’ve never had an incident of violence. However, there are certainly people in this world who may not be safe, so it’s best to take common-sense precautions whenever connecting with a stranger. Here are some recommended guidelines:

  • Protect your online privacy: Never divulge personal contact information such as home phone, address, social security number, credit card information, etc. when communicating online.
  • Don't invite strangers to your house:Arrange to meet in a safe, neutral, public place. Meet at a church, a park, a cafe, or shopping area close enough to be convenient for both of you.
  • Don't meet strangers alone:Don’t go alone. Take someone with you just to be safe. If you drop items off at someone's house, don't go into a strange house alone.

If you feel someone you've met through Twoshirts isn't safe, e-mail the administrators at info@twoshirts.org and inform them of your concerns.

Why must I post something to share before receiving something?

Twoshirts.org is an attempt to cultivate an economy of generosity, which means everyone participates in giving. We believe everybody has something to give. Furthermore, we believe participation in the community is healthy and affirming. Therefore, in order to keep the community healthy and viable we ask everyone to contribute. You need not give in equal value according to what you have received, only according to what you have extra.
