Gary has been having problems with his wrist for a little over a year. First diagnosis was arthritis... then tendonitis was added to that when swelling began to develop. He was receiving shots of cortison about once every three months. The last time he went in the swelling was very bad. The doctor made him have an MRI and then the surgeon had more X-rays taken. Three tendons have torn and there is no cartilage in the wrist. Arthritis is now in the thumb joint. They don't know how he has been able to continue to work (much less pick anything up with that hand) They said that the only thing they can do is fuse the wrist which would leave him with very little movement.
Gary has decided to wait until the pain is so bad that he can't take it any more. We have confidence that the reason he has lasted this long is God answering our prayers.
We're asking you to join us now and pray for healing. We believe that God has kept the hand mobile so Gary can work. If he has the surgery he will not be able to use the hand for 8 - 10 weeks.
thanks.
Carol

Ask for healing....
I will certainly do just that...as someone that has a touch of arthritis myself and carpal tunnel syndrome, I feel your pain. Some days I drop everything....and the pain is undescribable, but I can only go by what you say you (Gary) feel--my prayers are with you--pls keep us posted.
update on prayer request
Gary had a second opinion on the damage to his right hand. It is the same. This surgeon pointed out where there had been a slight fracture in the wrist that neither one of us remember him doing!
But, this surgeon also showed Gary how he can do the surgery and Gary will still be able to cook... something the first doctor didn't even suggest.
He's still going to hold off as long as he can since he just started this job three months ago; and the recovery from surgery is 6 - 8 weeks before the cast comes off and then another 6 months to learn how to use his hand a new way.
Thanks for your prayers and please continue to pray for healing.
Carol
